AV supports Entrepeneurs
The AV department stands for expertise in IT driven service delivery platforms, based upon mobile and fixed networks, Next Generation Networks (NGN)and Emerging Furture Internet technologies. Through a strong cooperation with the Fraunhofer Fokus NGNI competence center the AV department has access to testbeds and infrastructure for IMS/SDP/Web2.0 and SOA service prototyping.
The NGN department wants to use its expertise and close relationship to industrial partners to supports ambitious entrepeneurs through knowledge transfer and mentoring.
Prof. Thomas Magedanz, head of the department for Next Generation Networks at the faculty of electrical engineering and computer science will become the new venture expert at the TU Berlin. He is also head of Head of the Competence Center Next Generation Network Infrastructures at the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS in Berlin. More Infos: http://www.gruendung.tu-berlin.de/306
Currently there are two start-ups that are supported by the AV department:
1. Metamorph AG http://meta-morph.tv/
meta-morph is dedicated in the conceptual desing and realisation of ambitious IPTV/WebTV/MobileTV scenarios.
2. Hoersport
Hörsport uses the capabilities of todays internet and combines these with findings from sport science. With Hörsport users will achieve their fitness goals.
