Curriculum Vitae

Tran is currently a research fellow at Technical University of Berlin [4]. From 2011 December to 2013 April, he worked as a researcher at Fraunhofer FOKUS [5], Berlin, Germany. Tran received his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology [6] (HUST) in 2004. His current research interests include both theoretical and practical aspects of Future Internet Security and Privacy. Tran was and is currently involved in different European research projects.

During the time in Vietnam, Tran has actively contributed to several national and international projects such as “Vietnam Research and Education Network” (VinaREN [13]), “Human Higher Education Development Support Project on ICT” (HEDSPI [14]), “Building an automatic defense network” (funded by Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training) etc.

Abstract Research around Future Internet technologies such as Internet of Thing (IoT), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN) is constantly growing and related tools are required to test novel concepts. In this paper, we introduce our view on building a Future Internet (FI) testbeds based on existing open source solutions. Specifically, a FI testbeds at Technical University Berlin and Fraunhofer FOKUS is described. As illustration, a typical IoT distributed application has been developed and operated that was and being used in several FI research projects.
